The Whise® Profunder 616 is a professional application, passive subwoofer comprising four custom designed and built, low-distortion 15" bass drivers.  

The Profunder 616 delivers fast, fully extended, low distortion bass to 16Hz at a very high SPL of 125dB with excellent transient capability and detail. The 15" drivers have ultra-low Q, and very high flux density and use a custom-profiled paper cone delivering extremely fast yet well-damped transient performance. 

The driver is housed in a unique enclosure designed using (patented) Parametric Acoustic Modeling (PAM) techniques that includes low-pass acoustic filters. This acts to suppress both driver and amplifier harmonic distortion components, delivering truly flat frequency response, controlled phase and the lowest distortion ever achieved by a subwoofer. 

The Profunder 616 includes a unique "Guardian" driver protection system.  This system dynamically models cone excursion and coil thermal heating of each driver.  The Guardian instantly disconnects a driver once cone excursion or thermal heating limits are exceeded.

The Profunder 616 delivers seamless main channel blending and effortless bass performance that is clear, realistic and musical, faithfully reproducing bass from the lowest pipe of a grand organ and the subtleties of a symphony orchestra to the most demanding of peaks in cinema Low Frequency Effects (LFE) channels derived from either 5.1 or 10.2 multi-channel soundtracks.
